Having recently completed a major landscaping project in his back garden, Ranjit was looking forward to enjoying his revamped outdoor living space. However, heavy, damp moss clumps were constantly falling from the roof slope onto his newly paved patio and fresh garden borders. Every rainstorm and heavy wind brought fresh debris down, making it impossible to keep his outdoor area clean and risking permanent staining to his new stone surfaces.
To resolve the issue at its source, Ranjit brought in The Outside Clean. He required a thorough, permanent roof cleaning service along with a full exterior tidy-up to protect his new landscape investment. Our team executed a full high-temperature steam clean, applied an anti-fungal biocide treatment, cleared all gutter channels, and conducted a comprehensive washdown of his windows, doors, garage door, and driveway.
The core difficulty on this Glasgow property was managing the sheer volume of organic debris without damaging the delicate, newly installed garden features below. The roof had accumulated thick moss cushions over many years, creating heavy overhangs along the lower eaves. Standard cleaning methods risked dropping sharp tile fragments and wet moss slurry directly onto fresh paving, lawn sections, and decorative stonework.
In addition, the heavy moss growth had washed into the gutters, creating hidden blockages in the swan-neck downpipes. Water was overflowing onto surrounding UPVC window frames, garage doors, and ground paving, leaving waterlines and grime across multiple exterior surfaces. The project required a highly organized approach to protect vulnerable ground zones while completely cleaning the entire building envelope. For roof cleaning in Glasgow, choose Outside Clean.

To safeguard the new garden area, The Outside Clean team began by laying protective heavy-duty tarpaulins over all newly landscaped features, outdoor furniture, and delicate borders. Technicians manually scraped down the heavy moss using custom-profile scrapers to control debris fall. We then deployed specialized low-pressure, high-temperature steam equipment to melt away stubborn lichens, algae stains, and ground-in dirt without stressing the roof tile matrix.
The completion of the project brought immediate relief to Ranjit. The roof was completely cleared of heavy moss cushions and dark biological staining, revealing a bright, restored tile finish. More importantly, the source of constant moss fall-off was entirely eliminated, allowing Ranjit to enjoy his newly landscaped garden without the continuous hassle of sweeping away roof debris.
